Cuba Country Manager

Rustic Pathways has been operating programs in Cuba since 2016 and we are looking for a Country Manager to oversee our local operations. The Country Manager works in collaboration with the Country Director to assist in the end-to-end management of country operations, including open enrollment, group, and gap programming.
Professional fluency in Spanish and English is required.
2-3 years of experience managing teams within an education or travel context.
Willing to spend between 5 to 6 months living in Cuba.
What you do:
Assist in the management of country operations for all group, gap year, and open enrollment summer programs.
Assist with the management of local and non-local program leaders to deliver programs that meet Rustic Pathways student learning goals in line with curricula developed by the Curriculum Coordinator.
Ensure all students have positive and transformative experiences in country.
Implement and maintain all safety protocols and procedures from Director of Global Safety & Risk Management.
Implement community service projects with guidance from the Director of Global Community Service.
Assist with interviewing and hiring of local and non-local staff in compliance with hiring standards of the country of operation.
Assist with staff training and evaluation for local and international seasonal and fulltime staff.
Provide financial assistance with budget analysis and recommendations.
Ensure a successful working relationships with local partners and local authorities.
Other duties as assigned and required.

Experience working in a high pressure, high demand, and fast-paced growth environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Google Apps, and Salesforce.
BA/BS from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience with some college.
Experience working in Cuba or other Latin American country preferred.
Work and Environmental conditions:
This position is primarily based in a remote setting. The work pace for this position is at a continual fast pace where work is required for more than 4 hours at a time. Low supervision from managers and social interaction required frequently. This person is often traveling 40% of the time and will require at least 4-5 months time working in the country of operation.
This position requires such physical abilities as sitting for computer and phone work, lifting 20-100 lbs often, standing, kneeling, climbing, and walking in an outdoor setting and visiting program sites.
The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remains the same for any additional requirements for training.
